This car was purchased new from Motor Werk of Barrington in Barrington, IL, near Chicago by Mr. Alex Neuhoff, at a cost of over $90,000. Alex and his bride to be, packed their bags and drove the car across the USA to California, collecting a number of speeding tickets on the way.
With 2806 miles the car was then serviced at Woodland Hills Porsche and driven to San Pedro, California and put in a container and shipped to Maui, Hawaii. It's spend most of the next eight years in Alex's garage at his Wailea home.
I first spotted the car in Alex's garage some time in 1994 or 95, he wasn't able to drive it because he had lost the keys. I mentioned to Alex that if he ever wanted to sell it to let me know. I saw the car from time to time during the next few years, still sitting in his garage, now covered with dust and a flat tire, it was sad, such a car just sitting there. In late 1997 Alex had obtained a new set of keys from Porsche and talking about selling the car, it was still sitting there with a flat tire and dead battery. He was talking about sending it over to Honolulu to consign it for sale at the Porsche dealer, but never got around to charging the battery and putting air in the tire. In March, 1998 I purchased the car from Alex, charged to battery, put air in the tire and drove it home.
During the time I have owned the car I have meticulously serviced and maintained it in near perfact condition. It has been kept covered in a car port. The latest improvement was the rebuilding and up-dating of the LH- Jetronic Module by Electronik Repair, Inc which has made the performance better than new! This new LH brain has a 3-year warranty.
